This HaBO comes from Norma, who is search for this historical romance: I’m looking for a book I read a couple (few?) of years ago. It was about three sisters, one of which was abused by her husband. Somehow or another, the heroine’s husband ends up drinking poison which was in his drink – whiskey, I think (and yes he’s titled – he’s an earl or a duke or something like that) and for some reason the heroine thinks she did it. The heroine’s two sisters show up and find out about the dead husband and they all agree they need to get rid of the body and decide to roll it up in rug. They end up accidentally dropping the dead husband out of a second story window at some point. It was really funny. The hero turns up at the house along with a couple of other guys but I can’t remember if the hero is a family friend or what – I think he might end up helping with the body, too. In the end it turned out the butler poisoned the husband and it may have been because he was tired of seeing the heroine abused….

Some Girls Bite Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill is $2.99! Urban fantasy with some hints of romance, Some Girls Bite is the first book in the Chicagoland Vampire series. The cover had a pretty big facelift, by the way, and I think it’s actually an improvement. Some found the books elements a little silly (i.e. continuous Buffy references), while others really enjoyed them. Have you read this one? First in a brand new series about a Chicago graduate student’s introduction into a society of vampires. Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it was Merit’s. She was doing fine until a rogue vampire attacked her. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker and this one decided the best way to save her life was to make her the walking undead. Turns out her savior was the master vampire of Cadogan House. Now she’s traded sweating over her thesis for learning to fit in at a Hyde Park mansion full of vamps loyal to Ethan Lord o the Manor Sullivan. Of course, as a tall, green-eyed, four-hundred- year-old vampire, he has centuries worth of charm, but unfortunately he expects her gratitude and…

This HaBO is from Brianna, who is searching for a book from a few years ago: I read this book quite a few years ago, it’s probably set in 2000-2007? The heroine goes through a bad breakup, possibly with a fiancé? She puts on a vintage wedding dress, I believe she bought it but it may be in the family, and is transported to the bed of a soldier in a war zone in the Middle East, Afghanistan? They’re of course very confused, but sparks fly. Throughout the book she goes back and forth between the two places, always waking up in his bed. Eventually they fall in love, but she ends up saving him from a fire fight and gets shot? He may also be shot. He sends her back to her home in the US so she gets medical care. Somehow they find each other back in the states and reunite at a hospital bed, can’t remember which one’s! Thank you for your help in advance! I’m assuming this is contemporary with a bit of magical realism, given the time period and associated events.
