This HaBO request is from Liz, who is hoping to find this paranormal romance: Help! This is going to keep me up at night. It’s a paranormal where the heroine is mute at first then (conveniently) gets her voice back. She goes to hell? another dimension? to save her adopted dad. The hero who starts as a bad guy wears a ton of armor and maybe like a make-up mask. Oh! She dies, but not really and wakes up with having forgotten the hero. This is making me nuts, so any help would be appreciated. Well I’m certainly interested.

Crashing into Her Crashing into Her by Mia Sosa is 99c! This is the third book in the Love on Cue series and can be read as a standalone. Readers say this one has a slow burn, but some felt it was a little slow for their liking. Have you read this one? Relationships are a thing of the past for Eva Montgomery. Her current motto? You can’t spell “manipulative” without man. But Eva has needs, and a one-night-stand at her best friend’s wedding is the perfect way to kick off her new approach to singledom. Then a job opportunity puts her in the same city with the guy she can’t forget . . . Anthony Castillo is a perpetual bachelor—no strings, just flings—a status he maintains by being honest about his intentions and never looking back. So why is he still thinking about the firecracker of a woman who rocked his world at his cousin’s wedding? It’s a question he refuses to answer, until she comes crashing back into his life, taking his emotional walls down with her. When her father doubts her ability to make it in LA, Eva vows to go big and prove him wrong. With her athletic background,…

This HaBO comes from Julia, who is hoping to finish a series she started: I read a series a few years ago that had between 2 and 4 books, each one about a brother in a family. In what seemed like the last book a secret sister is discovered and I think there was going to be a next book about her that wasn’t out at the time. I think the sister is the daughter of their mother who ran off when they were young, but I could be wrong. The series is set in the States and I know the sister lives in a smallish town, but I’m not sure if the main series is. Although, the series did have a small town feel. But honestly it could also be that they’re very wealthy. I can remember liking them but nothing else about them apart from the epilogue scene where they pull up to the sisters house. Ring any bells?

A A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh December 3, 2019 · Berkley Mystery/Thriller CW: Domestic violence, violence against women, violence against animals, references to sexual assault A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh is a tightly plotted thriller that has pervasive feeling of rage coiled around it. Every character in this book feels angry and on edge, on the verge of snapping. This creates a superb tension that carries throughout the novel and, when combined with a perfectly plotted mystery and well-developed characters, results in a fantastic reading experience. This might well be my favorite book of the year. The first line alone is a hell of a hook: “She returned home two hundred and seventeen days after burying her husband while his pregnant mistress sobbed so hard she made herself sick.” Damn. The “she” referenced above is Anahera Spencer-Ashby. Anahera grew up in the small New Zealand town of Golden Cove, left for bigger things in London, and is now returning after the death of her philandering husband. Golden Cove holds some bad memories for Anahera; she grew up in poverty with an abusive and alcoholic father. Her mother died after a fall, and Anahera was never sure…
