Wrecked Wrecked by Shiloh Walker is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance about two former child stars. Sarah reviewed this book and gave it a B-: I was rooting for their relationship to change, and I was rooting for them both. Wrecked is a sweet and sexy story that, despite some repetitive flaws, was charming and fun to read. In the nineties, Abigale Applegate and Zach Barnes were the most beloved sitcom child stars in the world. Then they grew up and left Hollywood behind… Whatever happened to Abigale Applegate? She’s been wondering the same thing. With her Hollywood dreams long gone, Abigale now has a nice, neat, uncomplicated life—until the day her perfect fiancé needs to talk. Dumped, a little more than shattered, and totally confused, Abigale turns to Zach, her best friend since forever, to help her pick up the pieces. He does it with a gift—a copy of Wreck This Journal. She can vent her frustrations, and sketch out a new plan. Zach just hopes he’s part of it. Because he’s been in love with Abigale his entire life. When the journal falls into Zach’s hands, he discovers Abigale wants a new man. And fast. Nothing more than a hot distraction….

So my appreciation for the trope is as much nature as it is nurture. As a result, I am delighted to report that this book has SO MANY OF THE TROPES, but its specialty is my personal favourite: the meet-cute. Evie Summers – both star and narrator – is the assistant to Monty – sole agent at the eponymous William Jonathan Montgomery & Sons Agency for Screenwriters (a name as poncy as its owner). She’s been there for seven long years and has yet to be promoted to ‘agent’. Evie’s dream had been to be a screenwriter, but when her Dad died, she lost all confidence. Her friends, known by the delightful acronym JEMS (Jeremy, Evie, Maria and Sarah), know Evie is destined for more than fetching Monty’s dry-cleaning but they also know that she is…
