Graceling RECOMMENDED: Graceling by Kristin Cashore is $2.99! This is also a Kindle Daily Deal. This is a YA fantasy novel with romantic elements and I LOVED it. The entire series is pretty great, to be honest. The heroine is strong and all sorts of badass, but she’s also trying to cope with being a hired killer for the king. Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight – she’s a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king’s thug. When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change. She never expects to become Po’s friend. She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace – or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away. Someone Great by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson Feigco Entertainment Squee Not a Book Look for something new to watch on Netflix? Yes? Then read this squee from Darbi Bradley! You can find Darbi on Twitter (@darbibradley). She is a romance reader from Toronto, Canada currently living in Washington, DC. She hasn’t thought about moving home since November 2016. Not once… … Right at this moment, I’m on my couch in my pjs. It’s a rainy Friday night, and I’m about three-quarters of the way through a deeply mediocre bottle of white wine. I just got off the phone with my best friend and I can honestly say – I’ve had the time of my life. Weeks ago my friend and I made a date to long-distance watch the new Netflix comedy Someone Great, and I gotta tell you. It was something great. It’s really freaking great, you guys. Right off the bat, because I am a responsible member of #romancelandia, I do want to say that it is not a romance, but it is a love story. A love story between a girl and her friends, herself, and her future. It’s about growing up and about nostalgia for a very recent…

B- Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors by Sonali Dev May 7, 2019 · William Morrow Paperbacks Romance Those familiar with author Sonali Dev know that her books involve a lot of food, complicated family issues, and angst. Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors has all of these qualities, but the angst overwhelmed the romance to the point where I didn’t believe in the happy ending. I did, however, want to eat ALL the food. Trisha is a neurosurgeon in San Francisco. Her wealthy parents immigrated to America from India. They demand excellence and intense family loyalty from their children. They have blamed Trisha all her adult life for befriending a bad person in college, which eventually made Trisha’s brother, who is in politics, vulnerable to blackmail. So despite her successful medical career, she feels like an outcast in her own family. DJ is an Anglo-Indian chef who grew up working class in England with a father of Indian descent and a Rwandan mother. He is struggling to establish himself in the US, and one of his jobs involves catering an event for Trisha’s parents. When Trisha goes into the kitchen in search of a snack, neither Trisha nor DJ know that…
